An electrical switch housed with a switch housing (1) operates a conducting switching blade (6) pivotally supported about a bridge (21) between off and on positions. The bridge (21) is supported by the housing (1) and the blade (6) is adapted to form part of an electric circuit being open when the blade is in the off position and closed when the blade (6) is in the on position. A dolly (7) manipulates the blade (6), a protrusion (20) from the dolly (7) pivotally engaging the bridge (21) between the off and on positions. The bridge (21) is resiliently urged against the switching blade (6), to make unstable a transition between the on and off positions to provide snap action therebetween, and enable the dolly (7) to be made of unitary construction to facilitate assembly of the switch. The switching blade (6) might be generally horizontally positioned or it may be upright. |
