PURPOSE: A microstrip patch array antenna for personal communication service is provided to increase the gain of signal by collecting signals received at patches through strip lines. CONSTITUTION: By using a printed board having a dielectric constant of below 3, patch elements are connected to a distributing circuit through strip lines, so that the loss of antenna is decreased and the receive sensitivity thereof is increased. The patch elements are arranged on the printed board on which a copper thin-film layer is provided. The size of the respective patch elements is determined according to a frequency and the dielectric constant of the printed board. The length and thickness of a feed line is determined by the dielectric constant of the printed board. The efficiency of antenna becomes 1.5 and the gain thereof is 10 dB(decibel) over.
