An optical filter, in particular a UV filter comprises either a single metallic layer (14), or a substrate (1) and a metallic layer (2) which are suited in the transmission properties thereof such that a pre-determined spectral band of electromagnetic radiation is transmitted and outside said band the transmission is effectively zero. The metallic layer (2, 14) can also be an electrode of the detector. The detector can be formed together with the filter, whereby the metallic layer is directly deposited upon a photosensitive layer (3, 13). |
