PROCESS OF FABRICATING LIQUID CRYSTAL CELL OF SMALL-SIZED LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PURPOSE: A process of fabricating a liquid crystal cell of a small-sized liquid crystal display is provided to reduce a period of time required for testing liquid crystal cells to improve productivity. CONSTITUTION: A lower substrate having the first and second regions is prepared. The first region has a plurality of cells constructed of array elements. The second region has a test pad located at the end of a test line connecting the cells. An upper substrate having the first and second regions is prepared. The first region has a plurality of cells composed of color filters, and the second region has no cell. A scribe key for exposing the test pad of the lower substrate to the outside is formed at the boundary of the first and second regions. A seal pattern is formed on the first region of the lower substrate. Liquid crystal is injected to the lower substrate having the seal pattern. The upper and lower substrates are attached to each other. The attached substrate(150) is cut along the scribe key to expose the test pad of the lower substrate to the outside. A predetermined level of voltage is applied to the test pad to perform on/off test of the entire liquid crystal cell.
