PURPOSE: A method for controlling the overload of a BSC(Base Station Controller) in an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) is provided to make a swift recovery and remove a recurrence cause through an efficient control when an overload is generated in a BSC. CONSTITUTION: Overload classes to detect overload states are settled according to CPU seizure rates and inter-processor communication loads. CPU load classes are classified into 4 classes such as a normal class, a minor class, a major class, and a critical class. Inter-processor communication load classes are classified into 10 classes according to the residual inter-processor communication numbers of an inter-processor communication queue. The normal class is defined as class 0. The minor class is defined as class 1 to class 3. The major class is defined as class 4 to class 7. The critical class is defined as class 8 to class 10. |
