METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING NONWOVEN FABRIC

PURPOSE: To solve such problems that an uneven pattern tends to restore into a flat state and the bulk of unvennesses of the uneven pattern is sometimes reduced to lessen or vanish the pattern when a nonwoven fabric is processed into a wet sheet in a wet state or a high tension is locally applied to the nonwoven fabric sandwiched between a raised part and a recessed part of an embossing roll to reduce the fiber density, thin the nonwoven fabric, reduce a bulky feeling or reduce the tensile strength during transfer of the pattern in the case where a spunlaced nonwoven fabric in a dry state is conventionally pressurized with the embossing roll in a heated state to transfer the uneven pattern to the nonwoven fabric by heating and pressurizing. CONSTITUTION: The pattern is formed with a netlike pattern drum 7 and a water jet nozzle 8 in a wet state of the nonwoven fabric just after formation thereof. The uneven pattern is then transferred to a drying drum with a felt transporting belt and dried to complete the formation of the spunlaced nonwoven fabric sheet Sa with the formed pattern.
