PURPOSE: A movable rack displacement device of a steering system for a vehicle is provided to maximally steer front wheels without interference by using a room in a wheel house and to reduce the radius of curvature in the cornering of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A movable rack displacement device of a steering system for a vehicle comprises a rack(20) to convert the operating force of a driver to left and right linear motion, a tie rod(50) combined to the rack via a ball joint(40) to transfer the steering force to wheels, a stop gear(30) installed in each end of the rack and faced to the ball joint via a stepped face(32), a step motor(60) to rotate the stop gear around a shaft, a motor control unit to control the rotational degree of the step motor and having a mode selecting switch, and a power supply. Upon applying power, a pulse signal is generated from the motor control unit. The stop gear engaged with a motor pinion(61) is rotated by the step motor. The stop pin faces a lowest stepped face, and the transfer degree of the rack is maximized. Then, the steering degree of wheels is maximized and the radius of curvature in the circling of a vehicle is reduced proportionally.
