LARGE-SIZE LCD BACK LIGHT UNIT USING OPTICAL FIBERS

PURPOSE: A large-size LCD back light unit using optical fibers is provided to prevent loss of light generated from a light source and to acquire uniform intensity of illumination from the overall area of an LCD. CONSTITUTION: A back light unit is constructed in such a manner that light emitted from a light source(8) is dropped on an illumination plate(12) through an optical divider(10) and optical fibers(11). An optical fiber distribution array of the illumination plate is in a lattice form with a uniform interval.
