A line of upright parallel poles or standards (5) are provided with jacks (9) at their lower ends and have their upper ends each held by an H-shaped support fixture (6) to a respective stanchion (23). The stanchions (23) are supported at the outer ends of horizontal arm bars (7) which are mounted on respective foot members (8). Each foot member (8) is designed to clasp a respective roof truss (4). Brackets (10) on the poles (5) support opposite ends of horizontal platform support bars (20) on which planks (21) are laid side-by-side. The brackets also support opposite ends of a plank (21) which extends between the poles (5) and has its upper face co-planar with the neighbouring planks (21) of the platform.
