<p>A novel chamber (2) for the study of biological materials and samples, and especially cell cultures and/or micro-organisms, has a communication system (6). The communication array has at least two radio frequency transmitters and/or receivers (10,11) and at least one transmitter and/or receiver (7) inserted (S) into the working space (3) to work with the sample carrier (5). A novel chamber for the study of biological materials/samples has a transmitter at the sample carrier which delivers two distinct signals. The signal receivers are separated and are at the chamber. With a number of sample carriers, each has a radio frequency transmitter for an identification signal related to the carrier contents. The sample carriers are spaced along the insertion carrier, in the insertion direction, and the identification signals also give the sample locations together with their insertion and withdrawal sequence. The two radio frequency transmission and/or reception units can be placed at the sample carrier, with a transceiver at the chamber. The lines of transmission/reception intersect to show the presence or absence of the sample within the chamber.</p> |
