The wall element (1) at least on the upper edge (10) and lower edge (11) has a detachable fastening device (2) which is formed by a velcro fastening system. The wall side part of the fastening device is fastened to the wall (6) of the building, to its insulating lining (7), or to its supporting framework, and the wall element side part of the fastening device is fastened to the inner side of the wall element orientated towards the wall of the building, the fastening being preferably by adhesive. The velcro in its sealed state remains penetratable by air and condensation water.
