The spray booth has a movable spray unit, a transporting device for the flat components to be painted, two airflow regions and filter elements. Two screening walls (12.1,12.2) are located next to the spray unit (8) between the two air regions (5,6) which have different speeds, and the screening walls point in the direction from the filter element (4) towards the transporting device (9). The screening walls are inclined in the direction of the inlet (16) and outlet (17) of the flat components and the air region (6) between the walls has a uniform speed.
