PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable construction of a hydrogen storage metal alloy-air cell using a cation exchange resin or a cation exchange resin film as an electrolyte by improving oxidation resistance of the hydrogen storage metal alloy, for example, by enabling to make the hydrogen storage metal alloy electrode contact with the cation exchange resin or the cation exchange resin film. SOLUTION: On the surface of a hydrogen storage metal alloy, a coating film of a conductive polymer, such as polyaniline or the like, is formed so that the amount of the coating of the conductive polymer may be set to 3 to 60 mg per 1 g of the hydrogen storage metal alloy. Moreover, the coating film of the conductive polymer is formed on the surface of the hydrogen storage metal alloy of the hydrogen storage metal alloy electrode so that the amount of covering may be set to 5 to 10 mg per 1 cm2 of an electrode area. The hydrogen storage metal alloy-air cell is constituted using cation exchange resin or a cation exchange resin film as an electrolyte, using the hydrogen storage metal alloy electrode, which has the coating film of the conductive polymer on the surface of the above hydrogen storage metal alloy as a negative electrode, and using an air electrode as a positive electrode. |
