PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high output pulse light generating equipment which outputs an output pulse light of high peak power which cannot be obtained in the conventional case without generating nonlinear phenomenon in a rare earth element doped fiber. SOLUTION: This high output pulse light generating equipment is provided with a first chirped grating 5, an EDFA 2 and a second chirped grating 5. In the first chirped grating 5, gratings are formed in such a manner that pitches are increased gradually in the longitudinal direction, and an input pulse light inputted in the short pitch side end is converted to a time stretched pulse light which is stretched in the time scale and outputted from the short pitch side end. In the EDFA 2, the time stretched pulse light from the first chirped grating 5 is amplified. In the second chirped grating 5, gratings are formed in such a manner that pitches are increased gradually in the longitudinal direction, and the amplified time stretched pulse light which is inputted in the long pitch side end is converted to an output pulse light which is compressed in the time scale and outputted from the long pitch side end. |
