PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide data communication equipment which can automatically set the connection of communication through a modem section or an external terminal adaptor at prescribed timing. SOLUTION: This data communication equipment makes dial-transmission in response to a dial-call from an external terminal through the modem section 113 or external terminal adaptor 207. The communication equipment transmits a prescribed command to the terminal adaptor 207 by means of a radio transmitting section 111 according to triggering made at the time of turning on the power supply to a wireless station 100 or made based on a specific command from an external terminal, updates the information on the connection of a set value storing memory 105 according to the response to the command, and switches the connection of communication to the connection according to the information on the connection of the memory 105 by means of a change-over switch SW1.
