he new prothesis for the replacement of the integral spinal unit that has the ability to be connected with a system of posterior vertebra arthrodesis consists of the anterior part, in the shape of an octagon, as in drawing 1 and the screws 31 that may connect it with the part of the posterior vertebra arthrodesis and thus form an integral construction aiming at solving the problem of displacement for replacement of a whole spinal unit. Thus, the risk of two independent arthrodesis of the vertebra used at present is avoided, as these vertebral arthrodesis are not rigid enough when for some reason -which is typically associate with a tummour, apart from the body, the vortices, the articulation and the lamelae are also destroyed. In this case instability is large and requires minimisation of the risk of displacement. The connection of the posterior transvertebral arthrodesis with the prothesis at the anterior, as well as the new method of development of its length with a toothed mechanism at both ends touch the final plates, ensures quick installation and a high degree of rigidity which is necessary in such types of inerventions. |
