PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a fuel cell system capable of surely treating combustion heat even in the combustion of unreacted fuel gas temporarily increased as a result of the response delay of a reformer corresponding to the drop of the amount of power generated in the fuel cell. SOLUTION: This fuel cell system supplies methanol fuel and water to the reformer 4, and supplies fuel gas produced by the reforming reaction to a fuel cell stack 6 to generate electric power. Unreacted fuel gas not used in reaction is recovered through a gas recovery passage 60, and supplied to a combustion part 61. Although the amount of heat necessary for producing the fuel gas is generated in the combustion part 62, when unreacted fuel gas is temporarily increased, combustion heat becomes excessive. At that time, the fuel cell system increases the water injection amount to the reformer 4, and combustion heat is taken away by the latent heat in vaporization of the water. |
