PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive broadband modem with which terminals can share data communication and voice communication. SOLUTION: This invention provides a broadband modem 100 that has a modem section 20 and a master set section 30 for the Internet connection, the modem section 20 has a network side interface section 1 that interfaces a network 101, a modem control section 2 that makes communication with the network 101, a voice processing section 4 that conducts voice companding, a voice terminal interface section 5 that is connected to a phone, a data processing section 6 that conducts data processing, a data terminal interface section 7 connected to a data terminal 103, and a CPU 8 that controls each section. The master set section 30 has a protocol conversion section 9, that performs conversion between the Internet Protocol and a wireless protocol, a base-band processing section 10 that modulates/demodulates data, and an RF section 11, that conducts communication processing with a slave set. |
