PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user's convenience by providing an image input system using a scanner having excellent portability. SOLUTION: The image input system comprises the scanner 1 for acquiring image information of a scanned surface, and an optional unit 6 connected to the scanner 1. The system realizes an image input without necessity of a control from another external unit. Thus, the system can input the image even without using a personal computer or the like. Accordingly, the system has excellent portability.
