PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiving, recording and reproducing device with which a viewer viewing one channel does not need to perform many operations in the case of recording and reproducing the program contents of the one channel while temporarily viewing the program of another channel. SOLUTION: This broadcast receiving, recording and reproducing method comprises a step for defining one main channel among a plurality of channels, a step for defining one viewing channel in accordance with an instruction from the viewer, and a step for reproducing image and sound data broadcasted in the viewing channel. The method also includes a step for recording image and sound data broadcast by the main channel in response to the detection of a 1st switch action that switches over the main channel to another channel.
