PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a lithium secondary battery enabling a group of electrodes to be impregnated with a liquid nonaqueous electrolyte in a short time, and providing a high capacity when the battery is discharged at high rates. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a lithium secondary battery includes a process for fabricating a flat group of electrodes wherein a layered structure comprising a positive electrode having a non-porous conductive base, a negative electrode having a non-porous conductive base, and a separator is exposed at two of four side faces thereof, a process for enclosing the group of electrodes in an outer jacket 14 made of film, a process for injecting the liquid nonaqueous electrolyte into the group of electrodes in the outer jacket 14, a process for sealing the outer jacket 14 to obtain a secondary battery unit, and a process for pressing the secondary battery unit by means of roller presses 21a and 21b along the direction in which the group of electrodes are stacked. |
