PURPOSE: A method for guiding forward traffic information is provided to guide forward traffic information to a driver by detecting the state of traffic and displaying it using a VMS(Variable Message Signboard). CONSTITUTION: A VMS(Variable Message Signboard) controller is initialized(S300). Traffic information is collected from a multitude of detectors(S302). The collecting process is checked(S304). The transmission of the traffic information is requested to the detectors if the traffic is not fully collected from the detectors(S306). Each traffic state is determined by using detection signals received from the detectors(S308). The determined traffic state information is transmitted to the VMS(S310). The determined traffic state information transmitted to the VMS is stored in the VMS controller(S312).
