The control device (1) has a sensor surface (3) and a capacitively operated sensor device, where a signal is generated in contact with the sensor surface or in the immediate vicinity of the sensor surface. The sensor surface is partially surrounded by an aperture (4), which is transparent for infrared radiation. Another sensor device is assigned to the aperture, and is operated with the infrared radiation. The latter sensor device detects the position of the sensor surface, particularly under generation of another signal.
