PURPOSE: A strut type suspension device is provided to sustain a shock absorbing action for a long time by preparing a spring upper seat having an improved durability. CONSTITUTION: A strut type suspension device includes a shock absorber installed between a vehicle shaft and a vehicle body and a coil spring installed on the outer face of the shock absorber to absorb a shock. The coil spring is installed between a spring upper seat(22) installed on the outer face of a piston rod and a spring lower seat fixed on the outer face of a cylinder. A rubber bumper is installed in the center of the spring upper seat. The spring upper seat consists of a center part(30) whereon the rubber bumper is installed and a middle part(32) inserted to the coil spring while connecting the center part with a peripheral part(28). Three straight reinforcing ribs(34,36,38) and one V-shaped reinforcing rib(40) are prepared at the center part. According to the structure, the durability of the spring upper seat is improved.
