PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel resin composition for coating that has anti-fogging properties and antifouling properties as well as water resistance and that can be easily cured by heating. SOLUTION: The first resin composition for coating is a resin composition which comprises as an essential component an N-vinylpyrrolidone polymer wherein the content of a structural unit derived from N-vinylpyrrolidone of the N-vinylpyrrolidone polymer is not less than 60 wt.% based on the total resin components in the resin composition, whereby the resin composition can be cured through self-crosslinking by heating. The second resin composition for coating is a resin composition which comprises as an essential component an N-vinylpyrrolidone polymer wherein a radical generating agent is additionally incorporated therein, whereby the resin composition can be cured through self- crosslinking by heating.
