PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release paper hardly loosing the shape of the surface layer of the release paper having an emboss pattern or the like formed thereon even if a member for a synthetic leather is heated to a high temperature to rapidly harden the member, and capable of allowing the member for the synthetic leather having the emboss pattern or the like transcribed thereon to be efficiently produced by rapidly hardening the member under heating to the high temperature by using the release paper. SOLUTION: This release paper for the synthetic leather has a surface layer composed of a composition comprising 5-95 pts.wt. 3-methyl-1-butene-based polymer and 5-95 pts.wt. 4-methyl-1-pentene-based polymer [with the proviso that the total amount of both polymers is 100 pts.wt.], and laminated at least on one surface of a paper layer, or has an intermediate layer comprising the 4-methyl-1-pentene-based polymer and the surface layer comprising 5-100 pts.wt. 3-methyl-1-butene-based polymer and 0-95 pts.wt. 4-methyl-1-pentene-based polymer [with the proviso that the total amount of both polymer is 100 pts.wt.] laminated at least on one surface of the paper layer in order.
