PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent formulation for washing that can remain clearly measurable fabric-softening effect in the fabric after washing in combination of the washing operation with the fabric-softening operation. SOLUTION: This invention provide the use of a quaternary polysiloxane represented by general formula (I) and/or a cyclic quaternary polysiloxane represented by general formula (IIa) and/or a linear quaternary polysiloxane represented by general formula (IIb) in detergent formulations for washing.
