PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve throughput in image forming without complicating the constitution of hardware. SOLUTION: In the case of consecutively performing image forming operation in different ejection form (ejection destination) to transfer paper selectively fed from a plurality of paper feed parts, timing to start the next image forming operation is changed in accordance with the paper feed part, the ejection form (ejection destination) and the size of transfer paper which are selected. The image forming apparatus has a 1st mode in which the image forming operation to carry the transfer paper fed next to an intermediate tray is started in the midst of performing the image forming operation to carry the transfer paper fed from the paper feed part to the intermediate tray and the preceding transfer paper in the intermediate tray is fed again before the following transfer paper is placed on the intermediate tray, and a 2nd mode in which the preceding transfer paper in the intermediate tray is carried again after finishing the image forming operation without carrying the following transfer paper to the intermediate tray in the midst of performing the image forming operation to carry the transfer paper fed from the paper feed part to the intermediate tray. It is good to select either of the 1st mode or the 2nd mode. |
