PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the optimum data processing program optimum for a set circumstance automatically selected all the time out of plural preliminarily stored data processing programs without being selected by a balance user, and to make a cause which is caused by the set circumstance or which is caused by a trouble in an electronic balance informed as to a weighed display value informed when the value is not stable. SOLUTION: A change pattern with the lapse of time in a load data is preliminarily stored in a memory means 4 to correspond to the plural kinds of data processing programs, the load data of a portion for a fixed time from a load detection mechanism is read out to compare the change pattern with the laspe of time with the change pattern in the memory means 4, the data processing program corresponding to a conformed pattern or a similar pattern is automatically selected to be supplied to setting for the measured value when the conformed pattern or the similar pattern exists, the program for determining the presence of the trouble in the balance is actuated when no conformed pattern or no similar pattern exists, the presence of the trouble is notified when in the trouble, and judgement by the user is eliminated thereby.
