The light source (8) and optical sensors (9) are mounted above a transparent plate (6, 7) above the band guide device (3, 4). Gas pipes (10, 11) on either side of the plate are used to blow gas underneath and essentially parallel to the plate. A device for inspecting a moving metal band (1) comprises a light source and optical sensors located at a distance from a band guide device, and a gas blower device for flushing the space between the sensors and band. The light source and optical sensors are mounted above a transparent plate above the band guide device. Gas pipes extending in the band guide device length direction are provided on either side of the plate, so that gas is blown out underneath and essentially parallel to the plate. |
