PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a conventional excavator for excavating a bottom baserock in water is difficult to conduct positioning because the excavator is subjected to the effect of a tidal current or the like in the excavator. SOLUTION: The excavator 1 is moved along a leader supported by working crafts 2 floating on a water surface. Accordingly, the excavator 1 is not subjected to the effect of the tidal current or the like. Consequently, positioning to an excavation point is facilitated, and such workhours can be shortened. Since a truss casing 3 vertically drops towards the bottom of the water from the working crafts 2, the length of the truss casing 3 corresponds to excavation depth. Therefore, excavation depth is made clear, and the progress of excavation can be determined easily.
