PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack and pinion hydraulic power steering device having a dropin structure for easily replacing an annular elastic member for regulating shaft directional looseness of an output shaft to housings by a work tolerance and an assembling tolerance. SOLUTION: The pinion housing 21 for covering a pinion on the outer periphery of the output shaft 4 is connected to the valve housing 22 for covering a hydraulic control valve on the periphery of the output shaft 4. An inner race 41a of a rolling bearing 41 for supporting the output shaft 4 between the pinion 7 and the hydraulic control valve 11 is fixed to the output shaft 4, and an outer race 41b is sandwiched together with the annular elastic member 46 arranged between a pinion side end surface and a pinion side receiving part 44 of the outer race 41b by a valve side receiving part 45 of the valve housing 22 and the pinion side receiving part 44 of the pinion housing 21. The annular elastic member 46 is compressed in the shaft direction of the output shaft.
