PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hydrogel utilizable for various kinds of cosmetics, medicines, etc., and comprising a derivative of hydrophobic group-containing polysaccharides, to obtain a composition for the hydrogel used for producing the hydrogel, to obtain a cosmetic and a skin plaster using the hydrogel, to obtain an enzyme stabilizer and a stabilized composition, and to provide a medical tool and a clinical testing equipment having a dried film of the hydrogel. SOLUTION: This composition for the hydrogel is characterized as comprising (A) a derivative of the hydrophobic group-containing polysaccharides soluble in an aqueous medium and (B) a polymer having hydrophobic groups represented by-(CH2)q-L and/or -((CH2)r-O)q-L (wherein, L denotes hydrogen atom, methyl group or -C6H5; q denotes an integer of 1-24; and r denotes an integer of 3-5) and soluble in the aqueous medium.
