PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying device capable of effectively releasing the steam generated at the time of drying to dry and a recording device provided with this. SOLUTION: In a drying device for a sheet, a heating roller 51 for heating and drying the conveyed sheet 1 and a pressurizing roller 52 for pressing the sheet 1 to the heating roller 51 are provided. At least either one of the heating roller 51 or the pressurizing roller 52 is provided with an air passage 51b for releasing the steam inside a nip generated at the time of nipping the sheet with both rollers to dry it outside the nip.
