<p>The force applied to a measuring section is resolved into two components acting at opposite ends of a measuring section. Each component is resolved into a vertical and a horizontal part. The two vertical parts obtained are measured separately. The measurement values are cyclically scanned in a scanning sequence in the direction of movement of the living organism and memorized so that force, location, duration and variation with time can be determined. The measuring surface is subdivided into layers perpendicular to the direction of movement. A measuring section is narrower than the foot and longer than the track width. The force transducer (3) comprises a rigid transverse beam supported on both sides on a sensor block (7) containing a measurement transducer (23) on which the transverse beam acts vertically. The transverse beam is mounted so that it can only move vertically and is supported on a measuring spring (43), preferably a leaf spring, which abuts the sensor block (7). The measurement transducer (23) measures the vertical movement of the measuring spring (43). A transmission element (47) is arranged between the measuring spring (43) and the measurement transducer (23) and acts on the measuring spring (43).</p> |
