摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably provide a high strength stainless steel wire. SOLUTION: The steel wire has a composition containing, by mass, 0.03 to 0.14% C, 0.1 to 3.0% Si, 0.1 to 5.0% Mn, 5.0 to 9.0% Ni, 14.0 to 19.0% Cr and 0.005 to 0.20% N and further containing one or more kinds selected from Al, Nb, Ti, Zr, Ta and W by 0.01 to 0.3% in total and 0.1 to 0.5% V. In the high strength stainless steel wire, further, the content of 2C+N is 0.17 to 0.32%. The value of Md30 is -20 to 40 ( deg.C). The austenite grain size in the initial stage before wire drawing is <=30μm. If required, <=0.8% Cu, <=0.02% P, 0.2 to 2.0% Mo, <=1.5 ppm H and <=0.01% O are contained. Its strength after wire drawing is >=1,900 N/mm2. The content of strain induced martensite is 20 to 80%.
