ORIENTED FILM AND FILM FOR PROTECTING POLARIZER USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain transparent, oriented film that has excellent handleability only via the longitudinal roller stretching without using an expensive tenter-type transverse film stretching machine or a simultaneous biaxial film stretching machine. SOLUTION: A film including (A) a thermoplastic resin comprising a component bearing substituted or unsubstituted imide groups on the side chains and (B) a thermoplastic resin bearing at least substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group and nitrile group is mono-axially roll-stretched in the longitudinal direction at the neck-in rate (%) of <=(1-1/(orientation ratio)-3×100 in % whereby an excellent oriented film is obtained.
