PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an electric power steering device capable of preventing self-steering by a malfunction of convergence control, and capable of improving safety even if an abnormal steering angle is detected when abnormality is caused in a steering angle sensor. SOLUTION: A CPU(a central processing unit) 21 of this control device 20 of the electric power steering device sets a target steering angle for returning a steering wheel to a neutral position on the basis of a steering angleθand a vehicle speed V by the convergence control part 81, sets ideal target steering angular velocity according to a deviation between the target steering angle and the steering angleθand the vehicle speed V, and sets a target convergent current Ihd* on the basis of a deviation between the target steering angular velocity and steering angular velocity. The CPU 21 performs the convergence control for returning the steering wheel to the neutral position on the basis of this target convergent current Ihd*. The CPU 21 stops the convergence control when a steering angle abnormality detecting part 71 judges that the steering angleθis abnormal. |
