PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera enabling a person who has not used a camera to easily recognize how to turn on the power of the camera in optimum timing in which current consumption is restrained. SOLUTION: When an operating member 4 such as the barrier of the camera is operated, the state of the camera is set to a non-acting state or an acting state by a state setting means 3. After specified operation is performed by a specified operation performing means 5, a state decision means 2 decides whether the state of the camera is set to the non-acting state or the acting state. When it is known by the decision means 2 that the state of the camera is set to the non-acting state, the display means 1 displays a method for setting the state of the camera to the acting state for a specified time.
