PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot plate for charcoal capable of effecting easy and safe ignition of charcoal in the hot plate and quenching of charcoal in the hot plate. SOLUTION: The hot plate 1 for charcoal is provided with an upper cover 5. By placing a cover in a state that an adjusting mark 11 for an upper cover and an adjusting mark 12 for the hot plate for charcoal are deviated from each other during ignition of charcoal, a gap is provided between the cover, and a body and safety against explosion jumping of charcoal during ignition is ensured. By forming the through-opening 3 of the central part of the flank of the hot plate for charcoal to insert the nozzle of a simple burner 13, charcoal can be easily ignited in the hot plate. Placing the cover in a state that the adjusting mark 12 of the upper cover 5 is joined with the adjusting mark 11 of the hot plate for charcoal, the upper opening part of the hot plate for charcoal is closed. By inserting covers 8 and 9 in other openings 3 and 4, the hot plate for charcoal is completely closed and charcoal can be fire-extinguished in the hot plate.
