PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strip cutting device with a material pressing device capable of preventing problems in slitting a strip such as metallic foil and plastic film, or a composite strip obtained by coating or adhering the other material onto a surface of the metallic foil and the plastic film, that the irregular tension or compression is applied on the strip near a cutting point in cutting, which causes the warping and the torsion of the strip, as a result, the harmful defects such that the burr and high-edge are produced on a section of the strip, the chip is dropped, or the like occur. SOLUTION: Pressing rings 14, 15 are respectively mounted between adjacent round blades for pressing the strip 24 along an outer peripheral face of the upper round blade 8 or an outer peripheral face of the lower round blade 9 between an intersection point X (cutting pint) at an inlet side of the strip 24 of the upper round blade 8 and the lower round blade 9 and at least an intersection Y at an outlet side. The material pressing rings are cylindrical rings made of a thin plate member.
