PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cellulose membrane having high orientation. SOLUTION: This method for producing a cellulose membrane comprises culturing a cellulose-producing bacterium by using a substrate containing a biopolymer and a culture solution existing on the substrate. The biopolymer such as a cellulose-based material, etc., constituting the substrate is orientated in the method.
