PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sort a plurality of kinds of articles such as slips by kinds easily, correctly, and inexpensively. SOLUTION: When the classification code of slips is input from a classification input terminal 16, a slip classification box 30 having a plurality of classification housing spaces 30A for sorting a plurality of kinds of slips by kinds is rotated. When the position of the classification housing space 30A corresponding to the input classification code is detected by a barcode reader 38, the rotation is braked by an electromagnetic brake 34 and stopped when a positioning mark 40 is detected by a stop position sensor 42. In this way, the classification housing space 30A corresponding to the input classification code is stopped at a position corresponding to a slip charging port 20 formed at a prescribed position of an apparatus main body. After that, the slips 14 charged from the slip charging port 20 are housed in the classification housing space 30A.
