PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection structure for direct operation pipe and dust collecting hose capable of reducing the number of parts and the size of a grip part without reducing strength and a vacuum cleaner having the connection structure. SOLUTION: In this connection structure for direction operation pipe and dust collecting hose, one end part of the hose mounting tube 23 of the dust collecting hose 21 is fitted into one end part 27a of the direct operation pipe 27 having a grip part 27b provided thereon, a tubular hose cover 33 for covering the one end part 27a and dust collecting hose 21 by riding on one end part 27a and dust collecting hose 21 is provided, and one end part of the hose cover 33 is installed on the outer periphery of one end part 27a. A locking groove 25 is provided in the dust collecting hose 21, and locking projections 34b and 35b engaged with the locking grooves 25 are provided on the hose cover 33. The vacuum cleaner is provided with the connection structure.
