PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder in which clogging of nozzle is prevented by oscillating the ink meniscus while ensuring durability of a diaphragm through a simple arrangement. SOLUTION: The ink jet recorder comprises means for generating in a time series a first drive waveform P1 for ejecting an ink drop and a second drive waveform P2 for oscillating the meniscus without ejecting an ink drop. The first drive waveform P1 is selected depending on a print signal, the second drive waveform P2 is selected depending on a meniscus oscillation selecting signal independent from the print signal, and the selected signal is applied to a plurality of electrodes simultaneously. |
