METHOD OF REPAIRING COMBUSTION CHAMBER LINER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of repairing a damaged annular transpiration cooling type liner for a as turbine engine combustion chamber. SOLUTION: An annular portion of the liner including a damaged region is removed from a space between an upstream section and a downstream section of the liner. A metal thin plate is molded into an annular replacement section having at least one axial joint extending to a space between the upstream end and the downstream end of a replacement section. The replacement section is formed in size and shape similar to the removed annular portion of the liner. The upstream end of the molded annular section is joined to the upstream section of the liner and the downstream end of the molded annular section is joined to the downstream section of the liner.
