PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulated wire such as a coaxial cable, having an insulation layer with specific dielectric characteristics such as a low dielectric constant and low dielectric loss and useful for a communication-use insulated cable for transmitting and receiving high-frequency waves. SOLUTION: This insulated wire has a linear conductor at its center and has a fiber insulation layer including a staple fiber of polytetrafluoroethylene in the circumference thereof.
