METHOD FOR HELPING PREVENTION OF COLLISION IN INTERSECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for helping the prevention of collision in an intersection which helps a vehicle to prevent collision without either too much or too little by judging the risk of the collision of vehicles with each other in an intersection part securely in permission of human factors. SOLUTION: When vehicles approaching the intersection from two directions are detected, the method for helping the prevention of collision in an intersection obtained by installing a vehicle sensor on the side of a road and mounting an information providing device or a controller on the vehicle predicts the courses of the respective vehicles to obtain their intersecting point, predicts times when the respective vehicles arrive at the intersection by a stochastic means, judges the occurrence of the collision between the vehicles in advance from the relation between the predicted arriving times of the respective vehicles coming from different directions and gives warning to drivers at need or controls the vehicles directly to decelerate or stop the vehicles.
