PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an appropriate image for each kind of recording material. SOLUTION: When an operation mode corresponding to the discriminated kind of recording material is not set (N in S5 and N in S9), the operation mode corresponding to the kind of recording material is set (S6 and S10). When the operation mode corresponding to the discriminated kind of recording material is set (Y in S5 and Y in S9) or the setting of the aimed operation mode is completed (Y in S7 and Y in S11), a feeding mechanism and a printer engine are driven to form the image on the recording material (S8 and S12). Thus, the image is formed only when the operation mode suitable to the kind of the recording material to be used is set. |
