PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distribution service system which protects the profit of a provider side for charged contents, etc., and surely provide a distribution service from the provider side to a user. SOLUTION: A host computer 11 and terminal equipment 14-1 where a removable recording medium 15-1 rented from the provider side is connected are connected to a communication line 13. On the removable recording medium 15-1, software for obtaining contents, etc., from the host computer 11, 1st and 2nd electronic keys for ciphering and deciphering contents information and license information, and authentication data are previously recorded. When a distribution service is requested by the terminal equipment 14-1 by using the information recorded on the removable recording medium 15-1, the host computer 11 distributes the contents, etc., and a 3rd electronic key. After they are distributed, contents, etc., ciphered on the removable recording medium 15-1 are deciphered by the terminal equipment 14-1 by using the 3rd electronic key. |
